Birthday Cones

Vegan cake; no refined sugar; and good friends, Nicole and Laura.

Many others came too: Erin, Uncle Bernard, Jason & Amy...

1st year ever

Today is the big day. She's sleeping now as we busy ourselves making fruit salad and doing a bizillion dishes before a few close friends arrive. This past week she's stood up, balanced on two feet. She keeps saying "dog" and "woof". She said "tiger" too. When she hears a siren she'll make a high pitched yelp. She rests her head on Chi, one of our two cats. And she'll dance everytime she gets her keyboard to play 'Hard Days Night'. She statred to enjoy flipping the pages of books. And she clearly favors the book with the dog. Ian and I decided we'll wait till she's old enough to care for a dog before getting one.

Tea Tumble

Ms. Eloise. Well, she is marvelous. She "Woofs" now. She doesn't fake laugh as often. She can point to your nose, if you ask her. She loves to dance, especially to Hard Days Night. She's a Momma's girl. But that'll most likely change in time. She was saying "T" for cat but now when she sees the cats she squeals in delight. [Ian: I think she's squealing to imitate the cat's miaow. She does car alarm sirens too....] Today she crawled out of the open backyard gate and climbed a few steps. And she is still going in the potty, nearly everytime I sit her on it. Oh and this week she slept through the night a few times! She's experiencing some separation anxiety when I leave but the big pictures of her and I together helps. She is an enormous amount of fun.

toliet training

Today is day number 3 of Eloise actually using the potty in the morning. The first day I was shocked. She went staright away, as if she had done this millions of times before. Anyway, I just read that usually t.t. doesn't begin until age 2 or 3. Go Ella!
